Data Analysis

The volume of information generated by this amount of inspection and testing is impressive. In our typical residential project of two hundred units, we will have inspected the exteriors of all units, the interiors of thirty to fifty living units, and witnessed at least thirty destructive tests. Throughout the investigative process, we acquire thousands of digital images and record hundreds of pages of notes and sketches. Access to this information is expedited by use of our relational database in conjunction with the use of high quality digital cameras.

In the analytical phase of service, we screen the evidence gathered to discover patterns associated with the various suspect conditions. In some cases the patterns emerge very quickly and clearly. In others, we may have to propose additional investigations or testing to reach a conclusion. The key in this process is the experience and objectivity of the investigators. The staff at R.W. James & Associates has conducted thousands of investigations and is constantly striving to perfect our data acquisition and analysis techniques.
